Blue-gray Gnatcatcher

Blue-gray Gnatcatchers are birds of the upper canopy. Their loud high-pitched call is often heard as it forages for food. The tail of the gnatcatcher is in constant movement twitching back and forth as it flits about the tree tops. Gnatcatchers have joined the ranks of Carolina Wrens, Northern Mockingbirds, Tufted Titmice, and other species whose populations have moved northward expanding their range from the south. They can live up to 4 years according to banding records.
