Blackpoll Warbler

|
The breeding or alternate plumage of the male Blackpoll Warbler is vastly different from its fall counterpart. After breeding season the male molts into an olive-green colored plumage. Blackpolls are one of the furthest traveling warblers during migration. They may breed as far as northwest Alaska and travel as far south as Chile during fall migration. Female Blackpolls build their feather-laden nests low in conifers, although they glean insects from higher in the forest canopy
