Brown Thrasher
|
The Brown Thrasher is related to its cousins, the Mockingbird and Gray Catbird. Its song sometimes mimics other birds and is usually repeated twice. Thrashers place their nests on the ground in dry, shrubby habitats. Both male and female partake in nest building. They may raise two to three broods per season, with the male building the second nest while the female takes care of the first brood. They eat many insects during the warmer months. Fruits and nuts make up their diet at other times of the year.
