If you look closely at the photo of this
Carolina Wren, you may notice the tick attached above it's eye in the 2:00 position. This is most
likely a deer tick in the nymphal stage as they are quite fond of Carolina Wrens.Carolinas spend a
good deal of time on the ground. They are abundant on Cape Cod and are often seen bobbing back and
forth as they watch for predators while feeding on suet. Carolinas build a dome-like nest and may
raise four to six young. The "tea-kettle, tea-kettle, tea-kettle" call resounds in backyards and
shrubby areas through most of the year.
