Carolina Wren

If you look closely at the photo of this Carolina Wren, you may notice the tick attached above it's eye in the 2:00 position. This is most likely a deer tick in the nymphal stage as they are quite fond of Carolina Wrens.Carolinas spend a good deal of time on the ground. They are abundant on Cape Cod and are often seen bobbing back and forth as they watch for predators while feeding on suet. Carolinas build a dome-like nest and may raise four to six young. The "tea-kettle, tea-kettle, tea-kettle" call resounds in backyards and shrubby areas through most of the year.
