Cedar Waxwing

Cedar Waxwings travel in large flocks and often sing while foraging. Loud, high-pitched, ascending "zreeee" notes can sound like quite a racket! They tend to be nomadic, settling down in areas where fruiting trees and shrubs are plentiful. Fruits with high sugar content such as cherries and hawthorn berries are particularly savored. A male and female waxwing will sometimes pass berries back and forth in a courtship display.
