Connecticut Warbler



The Connecticut Warbler (female shown above) is one of our larger warblers spending most of its time foraging on the ground. This warbler walks, rather than hops like other warblers. The nest is built on or near the ground. Because of it's secretive nature, little is known about the habits on its wintering grounds in the Amazonian section of South America. During fall migration it passes through the eastern part of the states from their breeding grounds in central Canada and passes through the central U.S. on its return journey in the spring
