Marsh Wren

Marsh Wrens breed in the north and central United States and southern Canada. They winter in southern U. S. and occasionally as far north as the coast of Massachusetts or as far south as Mexico. The male arrives on the breeding grounds and builds many dummy nests in cattail marshes before the female arrives ten days later. The female Marsh Wren builds the true nest, a dome-like structure with a side opening. She may lay from 3-6 eggs.
