Yellow-breasted Chat
|
The Yellow-breasted Chat is the largest of all the wood-warblers. They have a shy and secretive nature and are usually found alone. They prefer low, dense thickets and their song is sometimes compared to the Northern Mockingbird. Their large bill suggests a seedeater, but their diet consists of insects and fruit. Chats winter in Central America, although they are sometimes found along the New England coast in early winter.
